Rev. Dr. Charlie L. Stallworth
The Rev. Dr. C.L. Stallworth is a native of Alabama. Dr.Stallworth received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible and Pastoral Ministry from Selma University, Selma, Alabama. The Leadership Ability and Best Senior Student Awards were bestowed on him at Selma University. Dr. Stallworth earned his Master of Divinity Degree from Vanderbilt University, School of Divinity in Nashville, Tennessee. While studying at Vanderbilt University, he received the Florence Conwell Preaching Prize. Dr. Stallworth received his Doctor of Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. During Dr. Stallworth’s studies at Vanderbilt and United, he was mentored by the Late Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor.
Dr. Stallworth has served congregations in Iowa, Alabama, and Tennessee. In addition to the church, Dr. Stallworth has served in academia at Des Moines Area Community College, Selma University, and will serve in the fall 2007 at Hartford Seminary. Dr. Stallworth has served extensively in the Missionary Baptist Denomination on the national, state and district levels. He has served as a Vice-President and President on the state level and instructor on the national level of denominational work. Dr. Stallworth continues to serve on numerous community boards and organizations.
In April 2005, Dr. Stallworth accepted the call to become Pastor of the East End Baptist Tabernacle Church, Bridgeport, Connecticut. Under Dr. Stallworth’s leadership the church is experiencing spiritual and numeric growth. The East End Baptist Tabernacle Church looks forward to a long and blessed future with the leadership of Dr. Stallworth.
Dr. Stallworth shares 25 years of marriage with the former Dorothy Marie Wesley and they have four children, Joshua, Shenita, Timothy, Nia and two grandchildren.
